King Valley Cabins
This project is located on the ridge line above the small country town of Myrrhee in the picturesque King Valley. The site, too steep for agricultural purposes, enjoys unique views to the higher reaches of Victorian Alps.
The exposed site had many challenges including high winds and high diurnal temperature variations (-5C to 45C). The cabins use a range of passive and active methods to mitigate the extremes of weather while also providing guests the opportunity to experience the natural environment in engaging ways.
